Where to begin??
This year has been one of the greatest, and one of the
hardest of my life…
Making a move to somewhere you have never been (minus the
couple of visits for interviews), being around people you have never met, and
paying real bills for the first time, not to mention all of this with being
married for only four short months, is, for lack of a better word, rough. Lol
I have moved so many times in my life, and made so many big
changes, but this was definitely the biggest move and change in my life all at
once (and Trey’s too!).
We had to make new friends, find me a new job, go to a new
school (well, I did), be at a new church, be away from our family and friends;
the list goes on and on…
That being said, it has been an AMAZING year…
The second we moved here, we felt loved.
God placed people in our lives (aka our awesome church
family!) who instantly made us feel welcomed, and who made the transition to a
new state so much easier on us (not to mention this state happens to be Sooner
nation! That has been a struggle in itself for this Longhorn girl…).
They helped us through every adjustment we had to go
through, and still continue to do so today! Cause, trust me, we are still
adjusting in some ways… It’s Oklahoma, after all! ;)
But God has blessed us in more ways than we could have EVER
imagined.
We have a youth group full of kids who are eager to learn
more about God and so loving, it’s unbelievable.
We have lived in an apartment for a year that, although it
hasn’t always been our fave, has given us a place to call home.
We have a new place to call home in less than a month that
is only a two-minute drive to the church! (Praise God!)
We have two sweet little fur balls that give us genuine,
unconditional, puppy love that brings joy to even the hardest day (at least
when they aren’t acting crazy ;P).
We both have jobs that continue to bless us, grow us in our
talents, and bring us overwhelming fulfillment on a daily basis.
We have friends who encourage us and keep us going when the
going gets tough…
We have been able to rejoice with friends as they bring new
life into this world.
We have grown our established friendships stronger, and
discovered what relationships will truly stand the test of time :)
Trey had the privilege of graduating college, and I have the
privilege of continuing my education (even though it sometimes feels like it
will never end! *insert crazy face*).
We have a car that is actually reliable and doesn’t break
down or flash its check engine light every other day!
We have had people placed in our lives that God gives us the
opportunity to be a light to, and who may not have had that before in their
lives.
And best of all, we have each other to stand by and lean on
through it all… <3
God is so good!
I can’t even begin to explain how good He is!
He has taught us so much about trust and faith this year,
and every new circumstance just grows our faith in Him and shows us how much He
truly loves and cares for His children!
I am so grateful for every blessing and every struggle
because each and every circumstance, whether seemingly positive or negative, has
grown our faith stronger than the one before.
This whirlwind of a year has forever changed our lives, and
we couldn’t imagine it any other way! ;)
From one heart to another <3
